The B2P range of test kits consist of either a sterile jar or vial (evacuated
flask) which has three components:
(a) Blue locking lid which contains a bacterial growth medium, inhibitory
substrate for non-test bacteria, and, a reagent which changes colour from blue
to pink (B2P) as the bacteria grow and multiply using oxygen. This reagent then
changes white specifically in the presence of E. coli;
(b) A clear 100 ml plastic PET barrel through which light can pass; and
(c) A Pink base which also includes chlorhexadine to kill the bacteria to
allow safe disposal of the used test kit.

- For use in testing environmental, potable and recycled water for Total
Coliforms and E. coli

- For use in testing salt and contaminated water for Total Coliforms and
E. coli

B2P Foodcheck (RCT S)
- For use in testing solids such as chicken, milk powder, shellfish,
fish, vegetables and salads for Total Coliforms and E. coli. Can also
be used for sediments, soil, sludge and bio solids.

B2P Swabit (RCT T)
- For use in testing contaminated surfaces such as benches, walls and
equipment for Total Coliforms and E. coli using a sterile swab technique

B2P Dairycheck (RCT 100) and Other Dairy Products
- For use in testing milk / cream for Total Coliforms and E. coli.
Coltest also is available for testing for
milk contamination with colostrum.
In addition to using the automatic
data-logging unit, the actual level of coliforms can be read from a graph of
time calibrated with coliform numbers from 1 to millions as measured by
Chromacult Agar (Merck, Germany). Copies of these graphs are provided under
